Kids Christmas Fruit Salad

Posted on December 5, 2016 2 Comments

A festive Kids Christmas Fruit Salad will excite even the fussiest eaters at Christmas time.  If you are dreading the Christmas feast because you have children who are fussy eaters, this Christmas Fruit Salad has you covered.  First of all, lets brain storm a typical Christmas feast – What is on your Xmas table?  Possibly nuts, pretzels, starchy roasted veggies, herbed up roast meats, gravy, soft drinks, candy, ginger bread men and liquorice, a bowl full of cherries and more?kids-christmas-fruit-salad

A majority of your Christmas feast might not be what your children usually eat on a weekly basis and the last thing you want on Christmas day is fussy hungry unhappy children.  Or worse yet, children who end up with stomach cramps and sugar highs because they gulped down so much stuff that they don’t usually have in their diets.  One of my turn to foods for my kids is fruit.  My two little learners love fruit and I know if all else fails, they will eat the fruit salad. Yummy Yummy, Fruit Salad!

For the fussy eaters or the children who have squirmish tummies, those who are vulnerable to artificial flavours and colours, who can’t tolerate gluten or fatty food, high sugar or lots of herbs and spices, and for those sensitive young tummies – I always make a back up kids Christmas Fruit Salad.  I have it there as a appetiser and a snack or as a side for children… It is a win-win fruit salad that looks so festive, bright and healthy amongst all the other stuff.

How to make the Kids Fruit Salad.

Ask for their help!  It is so simple.  Get out all ingredients, cut the watermelon (kids love using cookie cutters), ask them to pour all cups of ingredients.  Serve in a festive bowl with some Christmas salad picks.

I think this looks great and it’s such a good option for the kids as they can often make themselves quite unwell feasting on all the other ‘stuff’.
